Keep a copy of everything you sign. Registered our 13 yr. old dancer with 7 years of experience for an Intermediate class for students aged 10-13yrs. Was put in a class with a novice dancer and another child who was 8yrs old. Contacted the owner after the second class and well within their cancellation deadline to withdrawal. Was told (in writing) that they would put us in an Advanced class for 13+ to keep our dancer interested and with students of the same age group, even though it was discussed that our dancer was not advanced. The owner wrote that she would rely solely on the discretion of the Instructor. Our student was assessed by the instructor and was allowed to move classes. They conveniently waited until just after the cutoff deadline and right after they automatically charged our account for another month, to tell us that we could not stay in that class. Told us that our only option was to go back to the class with the 8 yr old and the novice dancer. The receptionist rudely told us this only 2.5hrs before class. They stated that it was the owner's decision and that the Advanced class was an audition only class, and that our student would hold up the others in the class. Clearly, if this was the case, we should have been told immediately upon requesting to withdrawal, and we would have used our last month's fees for October. Instead of being apologetic for misleading us, we were falsely placated with an attempt to keep us from withdrawing, and charged another month's fees. The receptionist also slammed the office door in my face and treated me like garbage in front of my child. Fortunately, we have all of our emails, every conversation taped on my phone, as well as have a copy of my signed contract. The owner ignored several email requests asking her to ensure that they would no longer take automatic charges from our bank account after withdrawing from the studio. It took a very stern email from my lawyer husband to receive her response just to that part of the issue. By the time we were booted from the class and due to studio closures over Thanksgiving, there were only 4 classes (and assessment trial class), yet we were charged a total of 3 months of fees = $323.94. Now after complaining to the BBB, the owner has stooped to a new level, claiming harassment and threatening to call the police. This is how they treat their customers. I have also opened a file with Consumer Protection Ontario. Even though CPO's min. dispute value is over $500, they do keep files on companies to track their 'practices' for such issues and complaints with contracts that do not contain all of the proper information as required by law. Definitely a matter of principle to warn others of their business tactics.
Rude service, did not complete all pickups or dropoffs...refused request for refund after service was not rendered as agreed. Would never do business with this company again. If you want you kids to be safe and cared for, definitely find another service. They are the worst.
John has been coming to my home in Bloor West Village for my weekly guitar lessons for the past 4 years. His eclectic teaching style along with his willingness to constantly cater to my ever changing guitar needs and interests is amazing. What a patient and understanding guitar teacher. I highly recommend John and Neighbour Note to anyone wanting guitar lessons in the Bloor West - High Park neighbourhoods or beyond!
Very poor service from owner/driver, we had the following problems: - she is awkward to deal with; - she was mean to the kids; - she does not understand the traffic laws as they pertain to child seat safety; - she cancelled service in breach of contract and left us without service at the last minute, then refused to return the unused portion of the prepaid service. I WOULD NOT USE THIS SERVICE OR RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE.
Our daughters loved Neighbour Note's March Break Teens Rock Band Camp. By the end of the week they were playing drums, guitar, bass and singing their favorite songs! Looking forward to the Summer Camps!
Both our daughter's piano and saxophone lessons are always fun and challenging. The fact that they get to participate in 4 or 5 student recitals each year is a huge bonus. Neighbour Note offers all of their students free recitals and there is no limit on how many people we can bring. We have a huge family so this is great for us!
Horrible with children!! Did not even acknowledge my two year old before shoving utensils in his mouth! Thanks to her, my son is now scared of dentists and it took me two weeks to get him to enjoy brushing his teeth again! On top of it, she stated un-factual information about breast feeding and dental health in babies in which she recommends no more than one year of breast feeding, even though THE WORLD HEALTH ORGANISATION recommends breast feeding for TWO years and beyond for a child's overall health! Don't let her fancy office fool you! I would have never trusted my child in her hands if I knew how terrible of an experience visiting her would be!
crepes are dry folded flat. they are a bit crispy & expensive. They are placed in paper brown bag which smells like wet brown paper bag. i prefer fluffy crepes with some density slightly moist with outer crunch on edges. We tried 6 crepes and all were disappointing and too expensive. This is a small place with maybe 4 stools and 8 chairs for 2 to 3 small tables. There is not much salmon in the crepe. The fillings are not generous given the high prices.
driver speeds fast, charges into traffic and changes lanes quickly cutting around vars trucks to get there on time always. This is great service and this is in a minivan. Convenient pick up drop off service.
our number 1 place to shop for wonderful toys books gifts cards free present wrapping too Thanks
This is our third summer taking private swimming lessons with Clay. He is my 2 boys favourite instructor they have had yet. He is patient and encouraging and they have both done great with him. My boys look forward to their lessons. He is a great swim instructor and we highly recommend him.
My 6yr old son was invited to a birthday party to Hapkido Academy and he had a great time. The instructors knew how to engage the kids and kept them entertained for the entire event. I've also heard from other parents that the lessons are great for young kids as well.
My son did CMA chess camp over the summer and really enjoyed it. He learned alot and became a much better chess player. The chess master Yuri is very good with kids.
Spirit of Math is an excellent math program for those kids who are confident students and good with challenges. It, however, can be somewhat too intense for some kids. My son started SMS when he was in grade 2, and it was a struggle in the beginning, but eventually he learned to appreciate it and is proud of what he has accomplished. As a parent, I like the unique way of teaching math and organization skill SMS enforces. I recommend this program.
Highly recommend! Cakes are moist & delicious and 100% nut free. The decorators can create any image you ask for or you can go with one of their pre-made designs.
After hearing so much about Sky Zone, I took my kids to Sky Zone one afternoon and had a very good experience. The place was very new and clean, and the staff was pretty friendly. The best part - my kids loved it and were tired out after jumping around for an hour. Would recommend this place.
My 9yr old has recently started Intro Competitive Program at NYAC, and it is great! One of the best programs I've seen. And, the kids seem to love it.
